Our Story

Joe Denham grew up in Sechelt, BC. He began his fishing career gillnetting for salmon on the Taku River in 1994, and has since worked as a fishboat captain throughout the waters of coastal BC. For the past 15 years he and his wife, Amy Bespflug, have lived in Halfmoon Bay where they have fished together, built gardens and homes, raised children, and sold a portion of their catch locally each year to friends and family. In 2020 they launched Deep Pacific Seafood with the goal of providing the broader Sunshine Coast community with their fisherman direct and fisherman sourced seafood.
